Fiction born of fact.

20000 years ago, Britain was linked to mainland Europe by Doggerland, an agriculturally rich and diverse territory situated between the UK and Denmark. Around 6150BC a submarine landslide off the coast of Norway triggered a tsunami so powerful it ripped trees from the ground, split this land into islands, and killed many of those in coastal settlements. In our telling, this distant past becomes the present. What was once an isolated paradise for its people, survives as part of a scattered archipelago as sea levels continue to rise, and claim the other islands forever. The established assimilate with the displaced and, aware of their limited resources, are joined in an island community connected by a shared desire for survival.
